At the beginning of the school year, changes were recommended for my [daughter's] Semester 2 class schedule. Unfortunately I forgot to reach out before Christmas break to solidify those changes. We were hoping to have her drop Roman Literature 2 and Art and Architecture and add Shakespeare. Is it still possible to this? I do not recall whether or not there is a fee for a schedule change, but we are happy to pay that if necessary.
We will be glad to make this change. Usually, the changes need to be made during a discussion with an advisor (schedule a private meeting or drop in for Open Office Hours) and you might need to sit through a little typing from our end as we change the student's registration and add notes to the file. Parents can also request such changes by email.
There are no fees for making changes to the registered course list. When adding courses you may, however, need to order a new STAA Study Guide or single-subject booklet (click here to do so).
Also, please note that students will still have access to courses that are dropped even after they are dropped. We recommend that the student visit the MY COURSES tab on the STAA Student Zone, click on the circle to the right of each course title, and choose "remove from view" from that circle dropdown menu. This will hide the course from the list of courses the student sees every time he or she visits the MY COURSES page.
Courses that are added to a student's plan will be available the Friday following the course changes as we try to save all user account updates for days and times with the least student traffic on the STAA Student Zone.
