"As is probably typical for most almost first-grade boys, my son’s favorite things to do are craft projects and science experiments. I remember you saying that writing is a big focus of STAA, but how much flexibility do we have during these younger years to focus more on arts and science? I would imagine much resistance with grammar and spelling work for my son at this age. I think that at this point in my son’s education, I want to make sure there is plenty of time for play and natural learning."

We carefully begin crafting composition and academic skills layer by layer through the years, according to a child's natural developmental levels.  Too, we stay in contact with the family throughout the year so we can make appropriate adjustments for learning strengths and weaknesses and family ups and downs as needed.
