Hi, I want to enroll a 1st and 4th grader. Is the total for that $560 per child or between them? Will they receive the books early to pre-prepare?


We’re so pleased you’re considering STAA for your 1st and 4th graders. The annual enrollment package for your family is $565.00 (June 2025), a flat fee that covers both of your students, not per child. This package includes personalized placement, planning, and advisor support for the 2025-2026 school year.


Books and materials are purchased separately after you receive guidance from your planning advisor and the Academic Packet, which includes course details and book ordering information. You may order through your favorite suppliers or those recommended in the packet. We’d love for you to wait until after your planning appointment to order books, so we can create a tailored plan during the meeting that takes your children's strengths, weaknesses, and progress into account. Once your plan is set, you’re free to order and begin your school year whenever you choose. 


The only "pre-preparing" needed for the school year is to complete the assessment and planning process with your advisor and then to order the books.  Once the books arrive, explore them with the help of the Academic Packet and start your academic year on a day of your choosing.  When you have questions about courses and progress during the school year, reach out to arrange a meeting to touch base with your advisor.  And feel free to use the Q&A Forums on the STAA Student Zone for quick questions in between advisor support appointments.
