Open the Activation Form

Before a student receives access to the STAA Student Zone each school year, parents and student complete one online policy form together. The form opens for the new school year on August 1 and is submitted once per student, per school year.

Completing the form together is intentional. Reading the behavior and academic integrity policies side by side gives parents and students a chance to talk about what honest, careful scholarship looks like before the year begins. The habits these policies describe, such as signing your work, citing your sources, and doing your own thinking, are the same habits that make a student’s work something to be proud of.

What the Form Covers

The form gathers three things: confirmation of your family and student contact information, so St. Thomas Aquinas Academy can reach you when needed; the Student Behavior Policy and Academic Integrity Policy agreement, which keeps our online community safe and makes work sample expectations clear; and, for live class students only, the live class policies covering email, absences, and assignment submission.

A Note on Devices

All of STAA’s web resources, pages, and forms are designed for desktop computers, laptops, and large tablets. Our resources are not intended to be used or accessed on a smartphone, so plan to complete this form on a proper screen.

What Happens After You Submit

Activation is not automated. Your advisor personally reviews each submission and then activates the student’s Student Zone access; it is one of the ways we keep the Student Zone a carefully tended place rather than an anonymous website. During August, student accounts are updated on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; from September through July, accounts are updated on Fridays during weekly maintenance.

While you wait for activation, make sure your Course Registration Form has been submitted. Courses cannot be added to a student’s account until it arrives.
